The AIA is pleased to respond to the interests of foreign-educated professionals who wish to become members as a PAg, AIT, RTAg or ATT. People from many countries may become members and practice in Alberta providing they meet the Institute's criteria of education and Canadian experience.

A professional designation is important and is a privilege that is earned after formal education, some experience and an Institute review process. Individuals who seek this designation must demonstrate their knowledge of the sciences in which they will be practicing, their ability to apply that knowledge in the workplace and their understanding of their professional obligations to the public and society.
