Cereals Innovation Symposium
10-Jan-2018 5:00 PM - 11-Jan-2018 5:00 PM
This event is sponsored by Alberta Wheat Commission and Alberta Barley Commission and its purpose is to start to bring producers and agronomists alike up to speed on all the great cereal research that has been going on in Alberta or for the benefit of Alberta, across Western Canada in recent years. It is an effort forward to bring agronomy and genetic research to attention to promote improved growth and health of the cereal sector in Alberta. It is a mixture of topics from somewhat a futuristic reach, to what one could adopt and start practicing right now. Just about 100% of speakers are receiving funding in part from Alberta producers through their commissions and so as well this is a great extension event to see where producers’ dollars have been going. The event starts with a poster session at 4:00 pm and Reception-Style Dinner at 5:00 pm followed by keynote speaker Cam Dehl of Cereals Canada on Wednesday evening (January 10th). Thursday (January 11th) events starts with a breakfast and then a full day of high value speakers. Lunch is included. CEU’s will be offered.
