Training Program

Each Agrologist in Training (AIT) and Agrology Technologist in Training (ATT) must complete the Training Program, intended to develop competent, ethical, independent practice. The Training Program Rules set out the program criteria.

Each training member must select a practice area in which they desire to work. The training member will sign a Training Agreement that includes: 


  • educational upgrading to meet the knowledge requirements of the practice standard
  • the amount of work experience the training member must obtain under the supervision of a qualified professional who takes responsibility for the training member’s work, to further develop the skills for ensure competent practice in the practice areas selected
  • Ethics training, the AIA course in Professional Ethical Competency must be completed and passed with a minimum 75% mark.

Training agreements cannot be appealed.

The training member will receive a practice permit setting out the conditions under which to work.
